Our Mission:

to give students of underrepresented backgrounds the opportunity to take a deep-dive into the world of technology through coding workshops, speaker sessions, and tech programs

-Let's catch all of the world up to speed on innovative technology

We are a student organized initiative for students. We are dedicated to equipping k-12 students with engineering and programming skills. Our focuses include AutoCad, circuitry, programming, networking, and resume workshops to prepare future generations for a career in technology. We strive to provide a safe and motivational space for students of all backgrounds and levels of knowledge.

Karina Popovich | Founder and President

I love technology. I love doing unique tech projects. I love networking with tech pros. This is why I created Connect with Tech - to let other students explore unique tech projects and help them build a strong network of guidance for their technological endeavors.

My own technological endeavors are centered around exploration of skills and machines. Any free time I have is spent on laser-cutting, 3d-printing, and, my new favorite, vinyl cutting. Whatever the time of day, you can find me at a Makerspace.

Aliana Wilson | Head of Outreach

While having a deep interest in biology, I decided to join Connect with Tech in its mission because it provided me with the opportunity for intellectual and personal growth in an industry that I am inexperienced in. Through Connect with Tech, I have began  programming , growing essential leadership skills, and making new friendships. As Head Of Outreach, my goal is for more students to take a big leap forward and emerge themselves in the world of technology, without being afraid of failure .

Taylor York | Head of Media

Technology is what paves our future. Learning how to use technology and how to innovate it is a great power to wield, and Connect With Tech ensures that as many people as possible gain this power too. I have a love for engineering, understanding the foundations of all things that do work, and making new connections with people to exchange knowledge surrounding all things STEM. I hope to be able to make an impact on as many people as possible with Connect With Tech, both in our community and beyond, while expanding my own knowledge as well.

Our main program is after-school and meets once a week. We encourage innovative thinking by providing our members with a variety of technology and leaving it up to them to experiment, explore, and create. To ensure well-roundness in all facets of technology, including business and innovation, we offer a bunch of additional opportunities:

  • Hour-long workshops (coding, professional skills, soft skills, etc.)

  • Unique tech projects educating non-CWT members

  • Connect with Tech hosted speaker sessions

  • Monthly newsletters filled with additional tech opportunities in NYC
